Art Against Abuse
One student's artwork from AAA's first event
_This program was created by North Salem High School senior who in September 2006 enlisted several students to create original pieces of art that expressed their feelings and reactions to the idea of teen dating abuse and healthy teen relationships. This art has traveled throughout New York State to raise awareness of these issues. In recent years, the 6th grade English classes participated by creating poetry about maintaining healthy friendships, and the High School Drama Club included a short skit about the dangers of an abusive relationship. The whole of North Salem Middle/High School and the greater community come together to make this evening a moving success.
This year's Art Against Abuse event is to be held on Friday, March 5 from 7-9 p.m. at the Hammond Museum in North Salem.
